DRY ICE BLASTING FOR FOUNDRY INDUSTRY
Dry ice blasting is used to clean foundries worldwide, it is non-abrasive and eliminates damage to molds during the cleaning process. Dry ice blasting can take place in situ meaning no downtime is lost and it is more cost effective. However, if a factory shut down is needed downtime can be increase production by reducing the downtime significantly.
For the cleaning of foundry areas, dry ice blasting has become common practice. Ice Blasting Solutions regularly clean casting units, hydraulic press units, heat exchanger cals.
Dry Ice Blasting rids casting units of carbon deposits removes grease and oil from hydraulic press units and removes carbon contaminant from heat exchanger cals to improve efficiency.
DRY ICE BLASTING FOUNDRY FLOOR AREA
The image above shows the ice blast cleaning results from a floor area in a foundry. The contaminant is made up of oil and metal residue which was causing serious health and safety problems for our client. We were able to perform this task on a Saturday night for the convenience of the client.
DRY ICE BLASTING HYDRAULIC PRESS
The images above show one of our operatives performing an ice blasting task on an hydraulic press. The task was to clean and remove oil and smoke residue caused by fire damage
DRY ICE BLASTING BENEFITS:
– Non Abrasive: no damage to the substrate
– No mess: sublimes into the atmosphere
– Superior clean: Traditional cleaning methods are more costly and damaging
– Health & Safety: Safe around electrical components
– No downtime costs: Equipment & machinery can be cleaned whilst still in operation
Examples of Dry Ice Blasting in the Foundry Industry:
– Hydraulic press units
– Electrical components
– Die-casting machinery
– Mixers
– Core boxes
– Screen and slot vents
